Golf Injuries: Spine Injury
One of the most common golf injuries is a spine injury. In our video series with MD Dr. Philipp Heuberer we will discuss the spine injuries in golf, one of the most common golf injuries.
Spine-Related Problems
Back pain often happens because something is off in the way your spinal joints, muscles, discs, and nerves fit together and move. Herniated discs can cause pain in your lower back or hip because the nerves become pressed.
Pain and other symptoms, such as numbness, tingling or weakness, typically travels along the path of the nerve. For example a disc that herniates in the lower part of the spine causes pain along the sciatic nerve through the back of the leg.
Spine and back pain will interrupt your golf swing, you will lose power, distance, precision and consistency. Our research team looked for solutions to avoid spine injuries which lead to stiffness and loss of motion.
