Symphysis pubis dysfunction is a condition that causes excessive movement of the pubic symphysis, either anterior or lateral. The associated pain is possibly because of a misalignment of the pelvis. Chronic Symphysis problems are associated with pelvic pain.

Nowadays, the disease is regarded as a non-infectious inflammation of the pubic symphysis. This disease leads to varying degrees of lower abdominal and pelvic pain. Pain is often localized over the pubic symphysis. The typical pain may radiate to the groin as well as medial thigh, or abdomen.
