According to MD Göbel during the swing, especially in the second half of the swing when the knee joint is stretched from the leg closest to the target, the knee joint is finally locked. A locked, fully extended knee joint is no longer able to turn the lower leg inwards against the thigh. This is normally prevented by the cruciate ligament.

Torsion Forces Result in Meniscus Damage

This means, if we work against it by force, leaving the fixed foot on the ground and twisting the thigh further in the extension, then we damage the cruciate ligament in our knee joint, or cause a weakening of the cruciate ligament, leading up to a complete rupture of the cruciate ligament. All variations of the injury are conceivable. This, in turn, results in arthritis damage and meniscus damage due to instability and an unstable knee joint.

Therefore, a method is important that does not completely lock the knee joint in the finish, i.e. does not completely stretch in this case.
